SHAME: JAKOYO MIDIWO rigged in Gem under the authority of RAILA ODINGA

Immediate former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has just been rigged in the concluded Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominations.

Although, Midiwo who is also the ODM chief Whip, was trounced by newcomer Elisha Odhiambo, the ODM National Election Board  on Monday decided  to give Midiwo the  ODM  certificate instead of  Odhiambo.

Sources close to the Orange party said Jakoyo Midiwo now remains the Orange Democratic Movement nominee to contest the Gem parliamentary seat.

The source said Prime Minister Raila Odinga rejected Midiwo’s defeat, saying he will not be able to campaign well without Midiwo, who is his first cousin.

The PM consulted the board and instructed them to lock his brother Dr Oburu Oginga out instead of the fiery Gem lawmaker.

Raila feared that he might be unable to campaign well with the entrance of new political greenhorns in his Nyanza backyard.

Midiwo had, managed to get only 7,109, while the newcomer Odhiambo got 12,122 votes. 

That, by any standard, represents a sound defeat!
