CORD’s JOHNSTONE MUTHAMA arrested over HATE SPEECH in ODM rally, Kibera, Nairobi

News just in indicates that Machakos Senator-elect Johnstone Muthama was arrested, recorded a statement and later released over incitement charges.

Muthama, who has been Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s foot soldier, was arrested over incitements remarks he made in Kibera on Tuesday.

Muthama, who is a gemstone billionaire, sensationally stated that if CORD doesn’t get a win in the upcoming petition, there will be no peace in the country, a statement police said rekindles the ghosts of 2007 –o8 post election violence.

Police termed this as hate speech and said he will be arraigned in court with more charges once investigations are over.

This is a big blow to CORD especially at a time when they want to hold rallies across the country after filing a petition at the Supreme Court challenging the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the fourth President of Kenya.

Muthama’s arrest has already sparked a heated debate among Kenyans on social media platforms with some saying that (viewed in connection with the Government's warning yesterday to foreign journalists) it could be a sign of things to come once the Jubilee Alliance assumes power.

Muthama is also a close ally of Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.

More to follow…..
