The day when MIGUNA MIGUNA warned WILLY MUTUNGA about losing RAILA ODINGA to impunity forces

Page 47 ……. 'I had warned Willy and others that we risked losing Odinga to the retrogressive forces (if we hadn't lost him already) if the so called reformers were not well organized. I had been complaining for nearly two years about the peddlers, crooks, suspected money launderers, drug dealers, and many Moi-era bootleggers who had surrounded Odinga, effectively turning him into just another greedy Kanu politician. For months, I had been railing about the right wing buccaneers who were occupying all positions of influence both at Orange House and at the Prime Minister's Office.

I felt that unless something drastic was done, these forces of retrogression would close ranks and ensure that only impressionable, easily influenced or plainly corrupt individuals were recommended for appointments in the newly created constitutional and independent offices. My fear was (and this has come to pass) that once the merchants of impunity placed their agents to head or control key institutions such as the judiciary, the prosecution services, the police, the constitutional implementation commission, the electoral commission, the anti-corruption commission, the intelligence services and the military, then it wouldn't matter who became President'.
