US government renews its stand on Kenyan POLITICS..WE WILL WORK WITH WHOEVER WINS

United States of America ambassador to Kenya Robert F Godec has said his government will work with whoever wins the March 4th general election.
Speaking on Thursday in Nairobi’s Kibera slums, the US envoy reiterated President Obama’s statement that America would not take sides in Kenya’s elections.

He said his government respects and will continue respecting the choice of Kenyans for the sake of peace and unity in the country.

Godec said the US planned to use its extensive youth network in the country to campaign for peaceful polls.

The ambassador said he would visit more than 25 youth Saccos supported by the US to hear about their needs and at the same time urge them to promote peace.

He said he will meet more than 1 million youth to make them part of the peace process before the March 4th general election.

“I will be holding meetings to talk directly to the Kenyan youth, and to listen to their needs and the few I have met so far, want a peaceful election,” Godec said.
