OFFICIAL: Bishop MARGARET WANJIRU to face off with MIKE SONKO in Nairobi Senatorial race
News just in indicates that former Starehe MP
Bishop Margaret Wanjiru will now face off with outgoing Makadara lawmaker Mike
Sonko in Nairobi senatorial race.
Wanjiru, who was barred from
running for Nairobi gubernatorial race for lack of academic qualifications, was
handed a direct ODM certificate for Nairobi Senate race.
The MP will now battle out
with flamboyant Makadara MP who has taken the city by storm.
Sonko is a darling to many
Nairobians and it will be an uphill task for Bishop Wanjiru to trounce the Makadara
lawmaker.
Rumour has it that Wanjiru
was given the ODM ticket instead of outgoing Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro who
had earlier won the nomination unopposed. She has been asked to go for Ruaraka MP seat by ODM's top honchos.
