CORD secretly requesting IEBC to Rectify Their LIST of Nominations to Include RAILA and KALONZO...
The CORD is currently engaging the IEBC in desperate measures
to have their top organ leadership have their own to parliament and senate.
The three parties had jointly written to IEBC on march 15 requesting that they
be allowed to re-open and “rectify " their list of nominees.
The move could have opened window for possible nomination leaders such as Raila
and Wetangula since Kalonzo's had been submitted by his party.
Sources close to the IEBC said
that Raila and Kalonzo, who are CORD luminaries, sent their emissaries to the
commission on Friday, requesting them to revise the list so as to include their
names in the list of those who will be nominated in the Senate and the National
Assembly.
IEBC officials have so far
rejected the request saying it is against the Election Act 2011, to change the
names of members that were presented to them in February.
Raila, who was vying for
the Presidency on CORD alliance ticket and Kalonzo his running mate, were
trounced by Jubilee Alliance led by Uhuru
Kenyatta and William Ruto, and are currently, looking for options that could make them relevant for the next five years.
