General KARANGI tells RAILA ODINGA to stop talking about the MILITARY in POLITICS

The Chief of Defence Forces Julius  Karangi has told  Prime Minister Raila Odinga to stop throwing his name into murky politics, saying military is an institution that should be respected by leaders particularly politicians.

In a statement which was leaked to the press on Monday evening, Karangi dismissed reports by CORD leaders that he was part of the group that plotted to rig in President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta in the just concluded General Elections, saying he is a decorated soldier who had served the country for over 3 decades and he cannot participate in such activity.

In February, CORD leaders led by Prime Minister Raila Odinga had alleged that senior public officials including Internal Security PS Mutea Iringo, Office of the President official Kennedy Kihara, Finance PS Joseph Kinyua, Head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia NSIS director brigadier Michael Gichangi and Chief of Defence Forces Julius Karangi held meetings in Karen to plan the rigging of the just concluded elections.

Karangi said leaders should desist from engaging the military from ongoing political theatrics, warning them not to taint the good name of Kenya Defence Forces.
