Supreme Court: Uhuru's victory is upheld

Nairobi - Chief Justice Willy Mutunga says Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto were validly elected during March 4 polls.
According to Mutunga, the decision was unanimously reached by the six Supreme Court judges.

In his ruling, the CJ said the General Election conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) was free and fair.

He said the court will issue detailed judgement within two weeks.

"Supreme Court has discharged its constitutional mandate," said Mutunga.
